Some clown at some stage had snapped two of the studs that hold the timing cover in place, and had tried to fix that by pumping it full of Loctite. Oh I wonder why that water is leaking out. Unfortunately this would be the beginning of quite a few problems. Many overtightened studs and nuts had been stripped and the timing cover itself was cracked and leaked like a sieve.
Adding to that.....take a look at the timing chain....and this engine had supposedly only traveled a few hundred miles since the rebuild. Yeah right!
Still its all stuff that can be fixed. A few parts, plenty of toil and a bit of patience and we will be back on track.
