Final Certification Inspection

Mark Stokes the certifier came today to complete the cert process. Having already approved the chassis, today was more about the body itself. Mark basically has to approve the build standard of every single aspect of the car. There is a huge technical manual you have to follow to build one of these cars and every part of the build has to follow that right down to the headlight lenses having the right safety number on them, but also covering all the mechanical and safety requirements like suspension geometry, door latches and wipers sweeping a minimum percentage of the glass....to name just a few.

Today though it was test drive time including a fairly strenuous brake test where the car is accelerated to 100 and braked heavily 3 times successively to ensure there is no brake fade.

As you can see Mark came back beaming saying it went really well and has given it the thumbs up. Another proud moment.

Now all I have to do is have a sound test to ensure it runs under 95 decibels and then I can get the car Complied, Vinned, Registered and go for a Warrant of Fitness.

Grandson's Visit

My Grandson Oliver came to visit, and its fair to say that after months of questions about how noisy it was going to be, what kind of engine it had and what sort of wheels I'd be putting on it.... he was pretty happy to finally go for a ride in it. Oh and he liked the blue wheels, he thought they looked "Gangsta"
