Billy Gibbons

This was a cool weekend. It was tinged with a little bit of disappointment as this weekend run by Marineland Rod & Custom in Napier was the big 75 year celebration of the 34 Ford and I was hoping to have the Coupe there. Unfortunately that wasn't to be, but getting to meet up with Billy Gibbons made up for all that.

Russell and I went down in his Ford Bonus and we got the chance to buy Billy a beer and have a few pics with him. Awesome!

The other pics are of replica's of ZZ Tops "Eliminator" which was built by Pete Chapouris for ZZ Top. Pete was also in attendance as was a replica of a 34 Ford known as "The California Kid" which appeared in a movie of the same name and was also built by Pete.

At the evening function, Billy also got up and did an impromptu gig, absolutely amazing to have an International Rock Star performing so close you could reach out and shake hands with him. Certainly a once in a lifetime experience.
